CULINARY FROM PAKPAKBHARAT

Pakpakbharat is one of the counties that existed in the provinces of North sumatra and is from the expansion of the main district that is DAIRI, pakpak Tribes including one part of the tribe that existed in Northern sumatra with a population which ranges from +/-pakpakbhrat in the County totaled 31000 inhabitants.
Like other tribes that existed in Northern Sumatra tribe pakpak also has a very popular traditional foods are often eaten on certain events and other activities, the following types of food from the tradional Pakpak

1. Pelleng
2. GinaruMenning
3. NakanPagit
4. IkanGemmuh
5, NakanLada
6. NakanNggersing
7. NakanPengambat
8. Ikan Binennem

As for food, most known among the tribe of pakpak currently still be cultivated, is pelleng and Ginaru both of these foods into main menu . traditional, even of the tribe of pakpak already staying in another ever undertook to preserve traditional food is pelleng and Ginaru

The origin of the food Pelleng

Pelleng food was originally used by the tribe of pakpak who wanted to go to war, food was created as a symbol for the fighters who will wish to towards the battlefield, the color of the food is identical with the yellow and red colours or often called as pelleng Ncinambara which means food that gave the fighting spirit and courage, pelleng also served with Chicken Coconut Curry as a complement to food, this food was very mushy almost like porridge but not too mushy

The origin of the food Ginaru

Ginaru is a very similar meal porridge, this meal is served on a particular event is equal to pelleng, Ginaru in the process of pembuatanya there are yellow and some are green colored depending of taste that make it but in general color yellowish, Ginaru mixed with a wide variety of vegetable produce from the tribe of pakpak, originally presented the food to wait for the harvest of rice because rice at that time did not sell food so that these become traded food alternatives to substitute the rice if it is not in season , food is synonymous with petai or (Pote)
