The main job of the people in this district are farmers, namely coffee grower , citrus, padi and Gambir
Based on Community territory and dialect language used Pakpak categorize themselves into five parts (five suak) known by the term local Pakpak Silima suak. Each suak has community and regional differences are also dialects of rebellion are different to each other. The fifth suak is called with:

Suak Pakpak Keppas;
(2)
Suak Pakpak Pegagan;
(3)
Suak Pakpak Simsim;
(4)
Suak Pakpak Boang; dan
(5)
Suak Pakpak Kelasen.
From a folk story (legend), Pakpak know three ages i.e. the times of Ntuara, the time of The Aji and Manisia. The times Ntuara told the human epoch is a giant who lived in the caves; The days of the Aji told the times of early humans is which form her body was the same as the ordinary man (homo sapiens) but still live in a modest and did not dress.
